Overview
Freshwater Fishing trips targettting Steelhead, Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout. Vancouver Island has one of the best winter run steelhead fisheries around and the Cowichan River was named one of the top ten Steelhead rivers in the world by BC Outdoors magazine. Whether you're a gear angler or a fly fisherman we can get you into the honey holes, that you dream of! We only take two people at a time to keep angling pressure to a minimum and make sure we do our best to conserve our unique fisheries. Also with only two anglers we're able to spend more time with each client and make sure we cover every inch of the best holding spots. We can offer an exciting white water drift to get you into some of the best spots, or for those looking for a quiet and uncrowded fishing adventure we offer hike in trips. Our hike in trips are not for the faint of heart! Some of the best rivers on Vancouver Island are deep down in canyons and it can be a rush just getting down to the river. If you're an avid angler Vancouver Island is a must do, with our gentle mountains, lush green vegetation year round and mild winters. Many times on our fishing adventures we can catch a glimsp of an elk or bear before it scampers back into the protection of the forest. For the best mix of heart pumping action and peaceful surroundings be sure to put iGuideBC on your bucket list of fishing trips.

Drift down the Cowichan river stopping at all the great fishing holes to cast your line. Suitable for gear or fly fishing anglers. The Cowichan river is slightly wider than many of ... morethe canyon rivers of Vancouver Island making it a perfect river to throw some flies. We use a NSR raft to get right into the best spots that are inaccesible to larger boats and hikers. We only take 2 anglers at a time, so pressure is minimal and you get to fish every nook and cranny of the best holding spots. In the fall Cowichan River drifts we can catch Salmon. In the winter we have one of the best steelhead winter runs from the pacific ocean. Later in the season the brown trout begin to come alive and give an exciting fight.
Guides
Hi There, my name is Alex West and if you're looking for a BC fishing guide you've come to the right place. I'll be your guide on this adventure! With 15 years fishing Vancouver Island ... moreRivers I've learned to love and respect salmon, steelhead and trout, and to of course catch them.

From an early age I've been learning the best techniques to landing trophy fish and I enjoy sharing this with others. I fish year round but when winter hits the island I'm in full time fishing mode. I've fished all over the world (including Costa Rica- see picture!) but I'm so lucky to call Vancouver Island home and I'm glad to always say I'm a BC fishing guide. No matter where I go fishing enthusiasts the world over know BC is the place to be if you love fishing.
