I remain
certain it was my Brad Pitt-esque good looks that convinced North State Parent to put my family's picture on the cover of their "National Adoption Month" issue, but I suppose it's just possible the abject cuteness of the rest of the family had something to do with it:
Showing poor editorial judgement, North State Parent didn't Photoshop Brad Pitt's face over mine on the cover of their latest issue.
As you can see, circulation is due for a boost (and probably not because of the pasty guy in the sweater).
They also asked me to write a few words about international adoption, and because I have a lot to say about the subject, I promptly... didn't.
As a writer, I don't make a habit of directing readers to a piece of work I consider something of a failure, but the article is already out there for everyone to read (though happily, it does include more photos, which were shot by local shooter Karrie Snure).
I don't love it, but I'll make the Undergrounders a deal; anyone who's considering adoption can contact me, and I'll tell you everything I didn't squeeze into the article.
Until then, see you in print, Tom Chandler.
