Joel grew up fishing in Northern Minnesota, chasing around bass, pike and walleye. When he moved to Colorado back in 2006 he quickly got hooked (pun intended) on fly fishing. The thing Joel truly loves about fly fishing is the beauty that surrounds you on the river. Sometimes you just need to look around and remember where you are. Joel has worked his way around the state and cut his teeth on many rivers. Joel’s favorite river to fish is the Frying Pan up near Basalt, Colorado. He love to teach the sport to newcomers, as its a great way to spend a day in Colorado. When not guiding, Joel also enjoy traveling and has fished quite a few states here in the west; California, Wyoming, New Mexico and Alaska.
