We are one of the only guide services in our area that offers both fly and spin fishing trips for our clients. Our guide trips consist of float fishing in one of our fully equipped ... morecomfortable Supreme riverboats.

If you would like to wade-fish during your trip, you will need to bring your own waders. We also recommend sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen for protection and comfort.

For safety, we do not fish in potentially dangerous water or weather conditions. Since we fish on tailwater fisheries, there are scheduled and unscheduled water releases through the dam that can cause high water conditions on the river. If either of these unsafe conditions results in a cancellation, we will be happy to reschedule your trip.

We generally practice catch-and-release, however if you would like to keep your limit of trout for a meal, we would be more than happy to filet them for you.

Gliding through the hills of the beautiful Ozark Montains in Arkansas is the White River and its tributary, The Norfork Tailwater. These are the finest tailwaters in the South, known ... moreto fly fishers all over the world for producing phenomenal numbers of trophy brown trout. Nestled on a bend of the White River is Cotter, Arkansas, "Trout Capital USA", and at its fly fishing heart is Dally's Ozark Fly Fisher. We are a fly shop for fly fishers, fly tiers, and fly enthusiasts.

If you want to discover the waters of the Ozarks, learn to fly flish, or hunt trophy trout, our guide service is second to none. Our experienced guide team goes through waders and boots like others wear out jeans and tennis shoes. We offer guided fly fishing trips for wade fishing (when available), river boats and drift boats on both the White River and Norfork Tailwater, and Crooked Creek and Dry Run Creek tours for those who are under 16 and want to fish for the world's finest trout. If you're a beginner fly flisher, we also have a solid program of trying and fishing classes.

We also carry one of the region's largest selection of Sage, Orvis, and TFO fly rods. We have fly reels from Waterworks-Lamson, Abel, Sage, Orvis, and TFO. We carry Simms and Redington waders, boots and clothing, tools from Dr Slick and Orvis, fly boxes from Umpqua and Montana Fly Company. Our trying selection is backed with only the best from Wapsi, Hareline, Clear Cure Goo, Renzetti Vises, and Dr Slick Tools.

Dally's Ozark Fly Fisher is your gateway to the White River system and Ozark waterways.
Owned by Chris Morris (FFF CCI), Arkansas Drift is a guide service based out of Little Rock, AR and located 1 hour and 30 minutes south of the Little Red River in Heber Springs, AR. ... moreThe Little Red River is a tailwater below Greer's Ferry Dam and offers year round trout fishing, great streamer fishing for Brown Trout, and consistent nymphing for Rainbows.

At Arkansas Drift, I offer full and half day guide trips, casting clinics, tying classes, and other programs. The mission of my guide service is to provide quality instruction and a good time! I don't want to just take you fishing, but also teach you how to fish! I want happy clients that leave with knowledge for the next adventure.

I am more than a guide service and like to keep in contact with my customers. I enjoy it when a previous customer calls to ask questions, and I’m available to help you beat the learning curve.

Philanthropy, it is important to give back to our community and Arkansas Drift is happy to donate time to a variety of local and national groups/clubs. During 2011, I have offered free casting clinics to local clubs/charities, fly tying classes, and participated in river clean ups.

I love guiding. For me, helping someone catch a fish is really fun. I love the rivers I guide on, the fish in them, and the Ozark Mountains they pass through. Everyday, it is my goal ... moreto make your day on the river, the absolute best it can be.

The only thing that separates most fly fishing guides on the White River is patience, passion, and attitude. Most all know where to find the fish. Most know how to change techniques with the constantly varying tailwwater conditions. All guides deal with that stuff everyday. The good guides want you to truly have an enjoyable experience and will make every effort to do that. The others will give you a "copy of the day before" and figure that is good enough. Whether you choose to book with myself or another outfitter, my wish is for you to have a great day on the river.

Most trips are conducted in a motorized 20 foot White River style boat. It is spacious, stable and made just for the local waters. While drifting, I control the boat with oars, just like a drift boat. I still enjoy wading and if you wish to and river conditions allow it, that's how we will fish.

Our local waters primarily hold 10" - 15" Rainbows. Rainbows 18" - 20" are caught on about 20% of the trips. The White River and North Fork Rivers hold trophy Brown Trout. While requiring a higher skill level, these fish can be caught while drift fishing nymphs or throwing large streamers. Brown trout in the 22" - 24" size are caught on approximately 25% of trips with skilled anglers. Our waters also have a few Brook Trout and Cutthroat. A very easy & productive to fly fish is to use a nymphing rigs while drifting in a boat. While it requires a higher casting skill level, chucking larger streamers for big browns can be a fun game for those thrill seekers! Our waters will never have a geat reputation as a 'Dry Fly' fishery but beginning in April - early June we have a good to great caddis hatch, followed by a white sulphur hatch. Once summertime arrives grasshoppers can take even the large Browns. Winter fishing is mostly centered around sowbugs, scuds and midges. Late February - May is normally the best time for large streamers and big fish.

I also love to chase smallmouth bass on the fly. We have 2 great smallmouth streams with the Buffalo River and Crooked Creek close by. Strict regulations on both fisheries provide smallmouth in the 13" - 18" range. I also have a couple of 'secret' creeks I guide on. Smallmouth fishing is best between April and mid-June.

Just 15 minutes from our resort is the little stream of Dry Run Creek. This creek is designated as a special regulation fishery for those 15 and
under and for the disabled. The fishing is done with single barbless flies only and is all catch & release. Not only are there a lot of fish, they can be huge!
Dry Run Creek is the perfect place to teach a young fly fisher how to fish moving waters. Casts are short and easy and they can concentrate on perfecting the drift, strike detection, hook set, and fish playing skills. These fish are not exceptionally easy and you have to use the right flies & techniques. Bring the kids, bring the camera, fish will be caught!

Come make some memories! Chris

A Cotter Trout Dock guided trout fishing float trip means you'll drift down the White River, North Fork River or the Buffalo River in north-central Arkansas at a comfortable pace to ... morefish as you watch scenery and wildlife. On the White River and North Fork River, we fish mainly for Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout. On the Buffalo River, it is mainly Smallmouth Bass.

We think you will find a guided Arkansas trout fishing trip is one of the best bargains around.

Some people; new to trout fishing, believe that "trout fishing" means that you have to fish with fly fishing gear. Most of the "locals" here and most of our guests do not use fly fishing gear; they use spinning or spincasting rods/reels. No experience required!

Fly fishing is a wonderful sport and we take out many fly-fishers, but it is not the only way to fish for trout. Fly fishing is becoming more and more popular over the years; around here as elsewhere.

Your guide can do everything for you, including casting, or he can just get you there and let you catch the trout. Or anything in between these two extremes. Just depends on your experience, etc. Either way, stories and laughs will be provided.

And if you choose, you may also enjoy a great White River, Arkansas trout fishing tradition; the shore lunch.

In addition to our regular " day trips" we do "camp" trips. Our "camp" trips are more accurately "fish and then camp" trips. Our trout fishing and camping float trip is a truly therapeutic adventure. When the trout fishing day is over you'll camp on our private 15 acre wooded island. You'll enjoy a tasty steak dinner cooked over oak coals, then relax with your friends around the campfire until retiring to your tent to sleep on a comfortable cot. In the morning you'll watch our cooks prepare your breakfast over the campfire as you sip hot coffee.

Over the last 54 years we've heard thousands of happy customers claim that our White River Arkansas Ozarks float trips are unforgettable fun and relaxation. Those who have never fished in their lives come away amazed at the fun they had, and how much they relaxed in such a short time. And the seasoned fishers make the same claim.
A "Value-Added" Fishing Service 65 Years in the Making Whether you prefer bait fishing, spin fishing, or fly fishing, whether it's for individuals, families, groups, or corporate ... moreoutings, we have a program that fits your needs. Beginner or pro, man, woman, or child, we're prepared to serve you. Here's why!

Hurst Fishing Service was established in 1933, 18 years before the Bull Shoals Dam was completed. We have watched the Arkansas White River go from a fishery inhabited by warm water species like bass to the fine, well-managed cold water trout fishery it is today. Over those last 65 years we have guided thousands of customers through exciting day-long float trips and adventure-filled overnight camping float trips. Like the White River itself, we have changed and grown with the times too.

Today we believe that an enjoyable trip on the White river is a blend of many elements - like comfortable, clean equipment - and fishing guides who know as much about safety, river history, and wildlife as they do about catching trout in any conditions. The result is a smooth, safe trip filled with entertaining action on several fronts, from fishing to area lore. It takes practice and effort to reach this level of perfection, and we have worked at it for 65 years. That's why you receive more value-per-dollar when you book a trip with Hurst!
